Very nice trike.
Very nice trike.
if you don;t have the ratio rite mix cup which really is an esential for any 2-stroke owner - think of it this way. 50:1 = 50 parts gas - 1 part oil. 1 gallon of gas = 128 oz - so at 50:1 that is 2.56oz. I run 32:1 - which is easy to calculate - because 128 divides into 32 4 times. 32:1 = 4 oz of oil per gallon of gas. From the gas pump (93 octane of course) pump 4 gallons exactly - then buy a 16oz pop bottle - fill it with oil and add to gas can. 32:1 - done!

Awsome trike.I switched to Amsoil a couple years ago .I used to use Klotz Supertechniptate realy great oil and smells realy good when it burns espeicialy in Cam -2 race fuel. But its had to find near me and almost twice as expensive as Amsoil dominator.Back in the 80s my uncle ran amsoil at 84-1 in all his 250rs without any problems.
I have owned my 1985 ATC250R since I purchased it brand new in August of 1984. I have always run Golden Spectro at 50:1 (one 12oz bottle to 5 gallons of gas, it actually works out to 53:1). This is the same mix that I ran for years when racing motorcycles in the desert in the 70s & 80s. Your mix is in part dependent on the oil that you run. Use a good quality oil, and read the bottle to see what ratio it is recommended to be mixed at.
I 2nd that 4x4van i been doin the same since 89
