im currently working on my 1984 honda 200m ive got it snorkeled and im goin to put sum 28" outlaws on the back my question is when u want to lower the gear ratio you add teeth to the rear sprocket correct? i saw a guy on here that had honda 200m and he had a stock front sprocket and then a 50 tooth rear (47 is stock) and he said that he had enuf power to turn larger than 28s...my second question is where in the heck do i find aftermarket sprockets with more teeth im havin no luck and i know they are out there cause that guy had one...thanks in advance my friends

here's a little formula i found in a 4x4 mag. first, you will need to calculate your final drive ratio. to do this, divide the number of teeth on the rear sprocket by the number of teeth on the front sprocket. (example: 13t front, 44t rear. 44 / 13 = 3.385. so that is a 3.385 to 1 ratio)
next, multiply your new tire diameter by your current ratio. then divide by your old tire diameter, the answer will be your new final drive ratio to work with your new tire size.
then find the front\ rear sprocket combo that comes closest.

ok make sure i did this right i got 11 tooth front sprocket with 47 tooth rear im wantin to run 28s and i currently am runnin 25s so....
47/11=4.272 4.272x28=119.636 119.636/25=4.785 so it would end up bein a 52 or 53 tooth sprocket in the rear

that sounds right.now, if you're just going for mud running you could also gear a little lower yet with an even bigger rear sprocket for more grunt, but you will lose top end speed. sprockets are fairly inexpensive, you might want to get a couple sizes to experiment.
