    The Nicholson 185s is here!

I picked up the Nicholson 185s around dark last night, which I wouldn't have been able to do without the help of The Great Gazzo, so I didn't really take any kind of pictures. As you can see, the fenders are brittle and cracked as well as the Hi-Flite seat. But that's fine, as I have a set of used OEM fenders as well as a set of fiberglass rear fenders, a Hi-Flite seat in excellent shape, an aftermarket seat cover seat with a fur-like seat area and a stock seat to choose from. I may have a front fender that will work just fine and I do have some 200x exhausts to choose from as well as different wheel and tire combos and an entirely new ( 20 min. run time or so) souped up 185s engine with a high compression piston, 200x top end and cam that's been all rebuilt with new bearings and clutches and gaskets and such, so I'm not hurting for parts. I will probably cannabilize the bolt on 185s for wheels and tires and the 200x exhaust system off of that and try a stock seat on the stock fenders and put the other Hi-Flite seat on the fiberglass fenders just to see what I end up with. I wish the weather was warmer and the daylight was longer, but since we haven't really had any of the white fluffy stuff, I shouldn't complain. But garage space is non existant! LOL So it will kind of have to be worked on outside. Of course the Nick 500 is still in the back of the truck as well. LOL I'm waiting on a buddy of mine to get started on my garage, but it hasn't worked out yet. This should be alot of fun. Thanks Bigbore for getting this put on a pallet and all wrapped up for shipping for me. Good luck with the bar. Wish I would of had the extra cash for the 580.Click image for larger version.

Nice! Are you using the motor in it that you told me about? The one that you said will rip your arm off when you pull it? lol

I'm thinking about it very seriously. That engine hurt SWIGINs' shoulder, sorry to say. Looks like I'll have to perform the triker version of "Pimp My Ride"! LOL

i think this would be cool with a custom built engine. something like a 185s left half and an xl 185 right half. you'd have the pull start and the kick start, a manual clutch, and this could be stroked like a 200x.

That's true. Then again I was thinking xr200. I have a line on one, just waiting to see what the damage will be. Jason said he knows where the xr200 is. And people used to race the xr200 in the Nicholson 185s frame, so it would be period correct. I went up to Pa yesterday and spent the day with SWIGIN and later Jason and we hung out with Mike at HRE for a bit. I got to drop off my rear brake caliper bracket project for the Nicholsons and my 81/82 atc250r triples to get a custom steering stem put in to fit the Nicholson 185s as well. I got to stop by blue27s house on the way back home and pick up my HRE gusseted 350x frame and my durablue swingarm and get caught up on the latest from Bruce and Alyssa. Bruce also hooked me up with one of his "Tiger Pariking" signs, which is super trick. So things should be progressing. When are you going to get the Tiger 500?

ID:	160500Well, being as I can't leave well enough alone, and as I wrote above, I had Mike at HRE do a couple little custom bits for me. He made me a copy of the Nick 500 rear bearing carrier and installed a rear disc brake mount on it as well. He also took my Nick 500 bearing carrier and installed a rear disc brake mount on that as well. He also made me a custom steering stem for the 81/82 atc250r lower triple tree to put on the Nick 185s and he made me a couple copies of the Tiger rear grab bars. Great work from Mike as always. He's the onlly guy I know of who is doing things like this. I can't thank him enough. I highly recommend him to anyone. He's done many things for me and I always make sure to mention his great work. Mike at hreatv.com if you need to contact him if you can't get ahold of him on here. I even took some pics of his handywork. I should have asked him to blast my Nick 500 rear bearing carrier and powdercoat it for me, DOH! LOL And of course you had seen my thread of me rebuilding the 81/82 atc250r front forks with my Terry Fork Kit and progressive springs which will be for this build as well. I have an nos front caliper for this too and some other bits and pieces I've been saving up. Now I just need a warm indoor spot to work on them. I may be clearing out some trikes soon.
