Sounds good to me I just need to know in advance for planning purposes...... Sucks that it's that far away though!!!

When I go to the oregon dunes I sand camp. I have zero desire to ride in the dirt with my trike or my banshee. Sand trails are awesome, idiot pits are fun on the banshee...Sand camping is $20 bucks a night that you can split with up to 10 other vehicles. Sometimes I make a spring trip, but I have made a thanksgiving trip every year for the last 6 or 7 years. And sometimes it's even tough to make that trip. It's 6+ hours for me to get to Coos, but worth the drive to the Oregon dunes.

Jeepermc- Sand camping does rock but not everyone is able to do it. There are sand camping sites within that general area on the dunes.
I understand this can be a long drive for a lot of people, especially with trailers, bikes and all the gear. I think if we can put this together, it would be a great time.
I agree.....but what is Sand Camping? We don't have the whole toy hauler bit, but some friends of ours have a motorhome and they thought about coming too..... I don't know that it would make it anywhere in the sand though....especially pulling their trailer full of quads!!!!
I think aug. 24-26 could work fo me , probly just camp in back of truck , so "sand camp" will score me a set of paddles this summer. but I will be riding this weekend ,north fork ,anybody invited
GOT MUD?:
They have designated sites in the sand where you can camp. It's usually a lot cheaper than in a campground but there is no water or restrooms. Also, no alcohol is allowed on the sand
I wouldn't recommend taking a motor home out there....
so its spring lets get a ride together for next weekend ?? north fork ,jones ?? anybody I cant wait to get MUDDY !!!
GOT MUD?:
1/2 way in the middle of Oregon is Florence.
42 square miles of dunes and like 50 miles from Eugene and i5 and the University of Oregon.
It's like riding on 3D clouds.
Open dry lakebed, trails and hill climbs and of course, out on the beach itself
if you like riding on hard sand and saltwater.
Flat and as fast as Daytona beach.
The trick they say is when it's sucks (hot) in the valley, it blows at the beach.
We just ride with the wind.

I ride the muddy trails mostly becouse its close 10$ in gas for the truck , fill the 350x up and get dirty ,no long drive or overnight cost, .. I am going to try the sand this summer but the cost are higher ,longer drive and all that . anyone up for a day on the mountain , jones creek ,north fork ??? still a little snow in the shady spots!!next saterday for sure!!!

Been trying for years.. never happens LOL. I've started 2 threads about it, and invite people every time I go to the sand. But as always, I'm down for it!

I know this is an old thread, but anybody on here going riding this weekend? Perhaps in the Seattle/Tacoma region?
I will be out riding the dunes for sure on the 27th of August if anybody cares to join me. Likely Florence.
I need about 2-3 minutes of notice.
