OEM Plastic Rivet on 250SX Front Fender

I'm in the process of cleaning up the front fender on my 250SX. I'm removing the mud flap, and have gotten the three metal screws out (used the vice grips/vice/impact driver technique successfully).

My question is regarding the two plastic rivets at the extreme edges of the plastic mud flap. They do not look like the reusable type. My concern is finding the replacement parts. I've checked the on-line parts diagrams, and they don't show these plastic rivets.

Does anyone know the part number for them, or if they are available generically from the parts store? Here are pictures of the front and back sides.

On my BR, I just used aluminum pop rivets with a backup washer, and dabbed a little black paint on them...
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

There is a plastic rivet kit available..I just bought the tool and rivets from Princess Auto here in Canada. I will get out to the shop in the morning and get the name of the manufacturer..I am sure they will be available in many places.

Excellent! I'm in the Detroit area, so it is easy to hop on over to Windsor if I have to (in case I can't find something similar over here). Thanks and let me know the model number/part number.

    Found it on the site...

    http://www.princessauto.com/mobile/p...ductID=8311862

But it doesn't list the manufacturer details on the link to see if it's available on your side..I'll get it tomoorow for you.

It's a good kit, there are about 30 rivets holding the plastic skirts to the fenders on my brothers quad. 2/3 were broken..they fixed up perfectly.

If you want a Honda part, look in the 86-87 ATC125m front fender microfiche. Number 20 and 21. It uses a slightly newer style plastic clip with a retaining washer. Those should work nicely for what you need.

Pro.point is the name of the packaging..however it seems that might be a Princess Auto brand item because their name is printed on the box as well..

    Hope this helps.

Any auto body shop should have them. If you know anyone who works at one maybe they could hook you up.

Auto body doesn't work with plastic rivets generally..and since the pop-tool is specific to these plastic rivet you can't use a standard rivet gun.

This is a specific application tool..a shop that does ATV repair might??

Hey Dougspcs, check out what I found at Harbor Freight:
    http://www.harborfreight.com/hand-ri...ets-97757.html

Looks to me to be the same kit. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's available in the store... I'm gonna check, and if not, I'll order it online. I'll post up pictures of the rivets to show how good/poor of a match they are for future reference.

Thanks for the leads and info!

I picked up the riveter last night at HF. I printed out a 20% coupon from the net, so I spent just about $12 out the door for it. For reference, they sell just the plastic rivets too (without having to buy the install tool). They are about $3 for a pack of 20. There is one size in particular (5mm x 15.8mm) that looks almost identical to the factory rivet. It has the same head, but is just a tad longer.

I'll get pics tonight when I'm home from work... just in case anybody really wants to see.
