Prolly the tallest tire your going to find that will fit your rim size is a 25" tall, but why would you want to put that tall of a tire on a 250r?

the 22 " tall tires a bit to low profile for riding in my area { woods , trails, with streams, logs to ride over, etc...}
so I was looking to get a bit more ground clearance for local riding. I dont race this 250r and I dont have the money to purchase another atv that is a 4 stroke with tall tires.
Could you give me a link to a set of tires that are 25 " tall, that would fit my 1985 rear / front rims ?
Just search on denniskirk.com you can do a search for tires by rim size. A 85 250r is a pretty desirable machine you could easily sell or trade it for a nice utility machine like a 250 big red that would be better suited for you riding enviroment. The 250r stock clutch wasn't designed to handle that big and heavy of a tire.

so you think I would destroy the clutch, if I went with 24-25 " tall rear tires..even though im not racing this 250r ?
what if I went with taller tires, but less wide/thinner on the rear ?
I like the 250r, and really dont want to sell it...i just want to make it more suited for my local riding conditions..which is trail riding thru streams, and wooded areas.
I dont think it would destroy the clutch but it would cause it to wear out faster then just riding on stock sized tires. What kind of tires do you have on it now? Maybe you could just get some more agressive tires for the rear.

If you go with the taller tires - to save your clutch, simply regear with different sprockets. Smaller on the front sprocket, bigger on the rear.
Also the stock tire size for the 85 250r is 20".
I appreciate all the replys..
so can anyone recomeend a 24" or 25" tire that will work on my rear rims...along with telling me what size front sprocket I should switch to, so I dont burn the clutch up
this is for a 85 atc 250r
and with a 25" tire your fenders will be gone in the first big bump... there is not enough room for a 25.....
