The copper BAPP 200x head gaskets will seap oil , just the nature of the gasket . I have never seen one blown out before ? Your head prob needs to be resurfaced !!! If your using a 12:1 piston you need the copper gasket IMO .

What is the actual thickness of the copper gasket? I don't have a stock gasket here for comparison so the actual number for the copper one would be best. Thanks torque!

ETA: What is the stock gasket made from?

the bapps gasket is 1.02 mm. i just checked my facts the compressed thickness of a stock gasket is 1.32 mm.

while were on the subject what makes the the bapps copper gasket so good, other than the raised compression.
the copper aids in cooling the combustion chamber and the thinner gasket reduces the quench distance witch builds detonation resistance into the engine.

That's what I have running thru my head. Maybe I'll pick up a sheet of copper and try to make one. All I've got is 200S head gaskets right now, but they would work for practice.

ETA: Maybe I just found out why no one makes these any more. A 12X12 piece of ASTM B370 110 copper sheet would cost me 39.59
I figured 6X6 for one gasket so I would get 2 gaskets out of a 12X12 so 20.00 per gasket in materials

Soooooo would people be willing to pay 40-50.00 for a copper gasket? (20.00 for materials, 20.00-30.00 for labor)

Eric-get your head checked to make sure it's not warped too.
