What A difference from when you started Dave!! It looks very nice!! Cant wait to see the "finished" product!! Some one I saw said that it's great feeling taking something old and making cooler than anything you can buy new. (if I remembered it correctly) and you have really hit the nail on the head with this build!! Keep up the good work and she will treat you right for another 27 years!! Unlike the throw away junk now a days!!

Hello. This has been a long time coming, but I am almost done with my 86 ATC 250SX. I am posting some pictures of the trike in my new shop. I still need to install the skid plate (engine skid plate) and heat shields onto the exhaust pipe. I was going for a nice rider on this trike and not a full OEM restoration.

Looks great, nice work, its a huge difference from the before pics!
I am almost there, but am so looking forward to my SX project being done.
Hey, quick question. Do you know if your hitch is an actual SX hitch, or is it one for and ES?
I am looking for a hitch, and have heard that the ES ones are a little longer.

To be honest, I didn't know that there was a different hitch for the SX. I got the hitch from Flyingw with a bunch of parts that he sold to me. I don't remember if there were any identifying marks on it or not. Maybe someone can help us out with this.

Its cool, Im in the market for a hitch, and I asked because if you knew for sure that yours was for an SX I was going to have you measure the length for me. But, its all good, and again, nice work on the trike.

Thanks for the kind words! When I picked up my 86 SX (see the before pics), my wife just shook her head. She told me later after I got it running (see the after pics) that she was thinking "what did he buy, what a waste of money, that thing will never run again". I sure surprised the heck out of her and she loves riding it around our property when I'm not riding it.

Nice sx you got..I'm doing a refresh on an 85 right now..Some people just dont see the potential of things like my girlfriend too..lol. I picked up a 83 ytm 200 for 50 bucks and after weeks of scrubbing, sanding, painting the thing looks like new...

Would you have any interest at all in selling this machine (250 SX)?

Hey, I am in Florida also. You live in one of the better riding areas, The Ocala national forest has 4 trails, I did them all last week. My 86 250sx only made it 6 miles before I lost a castellated nut and almost lost the wheel, limped back. Had to ride a 4 wheeler the rest of the days. Theres also Croom south of you in Brooksville. There is no where to ride where I am, Pinellas County.
