Rear Suspension Kit for a 185

Anyone know who made this and if it is worth installing on an 82 185S?

Awesome old aftermarket stuff... but not worth it unless you have front suspension as well!

You shouldn't show me these things, I have issues! LOL So, are you asking if some springy cushiony ride is better than a jarring, filling loosening hardtail? Heck yeah. But as long as you keep in mind, the suspension travel is no where near a 200x. It is a bolt on system, so jumping and stuff I would not recommend. As for the super coolness factor and having a nice cushiony ride around the yard or the property of where ever you may roam, it don't get any cooler. Not sure who made it, there were 3 companies who did the bolt on kits. Weld on suspension kits have their limitations, and bolt on kits have even more, but they are reallyl trick. Best suited for soft sandy areas, not rocky nasty uneven terrain. So if you can keep that in mind and not overtax the suspension system, it's well worth it. If you think you will be jumping school buses or Mack Trucks or stream crossings after buying and installing a kit like this, then stay away.

The kit was made by PK Racing Products. It came with what you see plus a pair of longer brake cables and a new, un-godly loud pipe that ran outside the frame. Mine came to my door COD for the princely sum of $345.75 (back in the day). If you were to install this, believe me. you will WANT the front suspension to go with it. I think Veal's got tougher stuff to ride in the boonies but believe me, except for sheer speed, I kept up with the best of them in the P.A. mountains and Ohio strip mines in the early eighties. By the way, I still have mine. If you want to see how it goes together see http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...68-185S-drivel

    Seller states in his auction:

"I will also have a front suspension fork for a 185 or 200S that I will be listing tomorrow"

Agree it is a PK setup.

Sweet! I have a 200s frame with weld on kit. I duplicated the frame work on a 185s frame and moved the swing are over that to that. I was just going to do a 200x front end, XL185 engine and plastic tank, I've got all that stuff. I've also got a real nice set of fenders. Well the engine is my brothers.

You could give me that 185s frame with the weld-on rear suspension....I'd even pay for the shipping
