    '84 200X. Time to rebuild

After seeing this 200X being hoarded at the dealer,

My search began the following Tuesday. Picked this up on Thursday. $450, '84 200X, runs & drives perfect. Zero smoke, needs very little. Already have spacers and a new adjustable pull front brake lever/mc being shipped in. Still need 20" rears, new clutch lever (just for symmetry, original works fine), maybe a 14t front, we will see how it feels with 20's. New handle bars (originals fine also), carrier bearings, and all new plastic and seat. Maybe extended shrouds also. I took it to the trails on Saturday to see how I like it. And I must say, this is my new favorite trail machine! Great overall, now its time to freshen it up.

At the trails with my brother

If someone has the parts I'm looking for since I can't get to the ads yet, message me please. I also want a 6 pack rack

    Nice pix.

    Thanks for the mini vacation.
You should be able to access the classifieds.

I'm not good at ebay but lately I've been getting parts trikes for the prices of
    the parts I'm looking for.

Well, up until the last few months.
Trikes seem to be going up in price.

I wonder if there's a new movie that re made them popular again.

    Hub-centric 1" spacers. Feels a little better.

Still need the 20's for the rear, and got a 14t front sprocket on order. Front brake mc should be here soon. Then more parts

Got more done. My adjustable brake lever and mc came, new bars & grips, 200X desert hi flite, and 6 pack rack. Just need to clean it more and get a few more parts. Have an msr aof clutch lever, DG RCM alloy exhaust, some rear tires, super scoops, and some newer rear plastic coming. Then we will see what else needs to be done Maintenance items include oil change, rear axle bearings and seals, carb cleaning, and other things. Some may think it looks weird, but that's fine I like it.

Also got some riding videos last weekend

Flip that camera to your helmet or on the front of the bike. Can't hear anything but exhaust and all I see is dust.

I will be sure to take you up on that, the 200X and the TR200 are coming apart for powder coating within the year.

Got another video. I put my camera on my helmet this time, and the quality sucks......

So I picked this up the next day.

    Can't wait to use it

Nice trike. Ive got a real similar 200x thats been around the farm for years. Where do you get your parts from?

My Pa traded some work on a guys windrower for a rebuild on it. Runs damn good and drives nice. Only problem I have with it is the rear spring is old and gettin weak from having me (260 lbs) riding around on it. It bottoms out when coming down of a jump and just sits real low when Im on it. Do any of you know where I can get a heavier duty spring for it? Or do they even do that?

Take a look at my build thread. I just got a heavy duty spring for mine. Also, take a look at the link below, it is a stock shock with the progressive baja spring on it (you can tell because the spring is even at both ends and is not wound tight at the top). I bought one just like this and just used the spring.

Never knew that about the rear springs, but I believe you have your spring definitions backwards..An even wound spring (Like the baja one posted) will be a linear rate.
