i am doing a 500r conversion on my 85 atc 250r. i know swingarms from 86 to 89 fit on the 85 250r. but will a 400ex or 450r swingarm fit on the back of the 250r? its hard to find an extended swingarm for an 85 250r so i figured i would look at other models...thankyou

the 450r swingarm wiull work if you use the 250r steel sleaves, but you ahve to play with diffrent year and length linkages to get ot right.

With all the money you are going to have in parts and time it would be easier and cheaper to have your stock arm extended.

Or buy an '86-'87 spec swingarm and convert your brake and carrier setup to '86-'87 type. You would need an '86 or later caliper and caliper mount, and '86 or later carrier..
