350x oil filter??

dont worry, its not a which way does it go thread! just thought i would post this. I changed the oil and filter today, when i went to install the new filter it didnt fit in the cover right. I compared it to the one i removed(both are honda filters)and it is identicle except for the metal cap that is pressd over the paper element has a small lip to it on the end that faces out. The other end no lip. the old filter has no lip on either end. Lip is very small, maybe 32nd, but its just enough where it hits the ribs on the inside of the filter cover and will not work. I got these filters in a lot off ebay, i think they were listed as fitting the 350x, i know these filters fit multiple machines. I never did cross reference the part # though. I just ended up wrapping a strip of wide blue tape around the element, and putting it to the grinding wheel, only took a sec, but was puzzling none the less. anyone ever run into this?? was gonna take a pic, but had to head to work.

I've noticed the ones i got from honda are the same. Its a tight fit.... but it will sit in there nice. I'm unsure if yours are the same or not without a picture. I was stumped at first...

They mite be 400ex ones they look really close

my 300ex filters look alot like 400ex filters also. id get some more and see if they fit right.

the 250 es and sx run the same filter as the 350.
