NRA discounted life memberships

I'm hoping this thread doesn't break any rules or code of conduct for the site and that you will allow it to run it's course. Obviously the issue of gun control is close to the hearts of many here judging by the views on the Gun Control thread. I found out about this today and wanted to offer it up to my fellow members here, including mods and admin.

I'm a life member of the NRA. I have been informed that I can sponsor "friends and family" for a life membership for the discounted price of 300.00, It's normally 1000.00 for a life membership. I'm still trying to get the details ironed out (I'm going to call tomorrow and see if they have a payment plan for the 300.00 life membership. They do have one for the normal 1000.00 Life Membership fee. I'll update when I find out), but here's the deal:

If anyone here is on a yearly membership and wants to upgrade, or just plain wants to join up as a life member, IM me and I will send you the info you need to get it done. I can only do a limited number and I'm not exactly sure what that number is, so first come first served. FWIW any life member can do this for you. If you need the info on how to do it let me know.

I firmly believe that after the first of the year they are gong to be pushing hard on gun control measures and this time they will be permanent, not like the last assault weapons ban that expired after 10 years. Rumor has it that they will try for no grandfather clauses, meaning all high cap mags will be banned if they can push it thru, even the ones you already have.

The NRA is the biggest pro gun organization we have, but be forewarned: their single and sole purpose is to fight against unfair gun regulations and to protect the Second Amendment. They don't deal with abortion, drunk driving or puppie mills.

AR15.com has helped over 500 people become discounted life members since the first part of the year by doing this sponsor thing, so I figured I'd offer it up to the members here, before I use up my sponsor ships over there. There were reports that the NRA was receiving up to 8000 membership applications a day (not just Life Memberships. There are other options too.), since they started talking about new gun laws. Funny how people finally join up when sh!t starts to get real.

ETA: I do not benefit from this in any way, other than what the NRA does for the 2nd Amendment. I just figured I help those who want to join and can't afford 1000 bucks.

If I wouldn't only owe $350 on my lifetime membership I'd surly take you up. If it's still same as when I first started my lifetime it is only $25/ quarter if you don't take scooters offer. Not a montly burden. Definately worth it if you value your firearms and the 2nd amendment!

Thanks for the discount Scooter! Called them today and after about 40 minutes on hold got to talk to someone, and they had me set up as a life member in less than 5 minutes, but for only $300! Well worth it IMO.

There is absolutely no reason not to become a member. I called at 9:30 am this morning. When i hung up the phone, it said 3 minutes 47 seconds! I signed up for life at only $300. The best part is a talked to a chic that actually spoke english! I hope more of you will jump on this great deal and give your support to the nra.
