    Trikefest Jam Session?

So there was a thread started in the open forum a while back if there where any musicians going to TF. There were substantial replies and interest of having a jam session. So I figured I'd start one here to see just how interested folks really are. As I stated in that thread I am willing to bring along some equipment to put some "power' behind either instruments or voices. I don't sing and played the sax in high school so I don't have the ability to "jam" myself,(which is why I DJ'ed for 12 yrs) but I'm willing to aid others to do so. I could bring a 12 channel mixer that can handle up to 4 instruments and 8 mics, 2 10" powered speakers (& stands), a power conditioner to protect mine and anyone else's equipment ran through the system, 1 mic, and everything needed to connect "my" system. There are only a few things I ask if I bring this as I don't want to lug this stuff over 500 miles taking up space just to have it sit there and take up space. First off is there still interest in doing this? Does someone need to contact Haspin Acres to get approval to do this? Someone willing to contact them? If it's not a problem with the park then let's hear what your bringing (guitar, bass, etc) & genre of music you play or sing. Maybe we could set a day and time prior to TF so all who want to attend/participate can plan accordingly. Were in the park would it take place? I plan on being there by Wednesday so anytime after that except for during TF planned events such as races would work. Someone else needs to bring a generator to produce the power. So in summary here is the punch list I can think of to pull this off:
    1) Is there real interest?
    2) Park approval (I do not want to do anything to jeopardize our future there!)
    3) Volunteer to contact the park (Hopefully someone who already has a current rapport with the owners)
    4) Who will supply a generator (Can't be too small)
    5) Date, time, place
    6) Who is bringing what to play!

Let me know guys and gals it is just around the corner

I would hate for you to bring all that and it not get used. I have no interest in bringing my electric guitar. Its just way more simple to throw my beater acoustic campfire guitar in the truck.
I think a real TF veteran would have more pull with the operators of the park asking permission for this. One of the first that started it. Mik6 where ya be???? Howdy????

I play guitar and harmonica. My types of music i play the most are blues and all rock.

I would have no problem sitting down and jamming around a fire anywhere.

As far as a time goes i would think dark on say Thursday and if its a hit do it again on Friday?

Wish i could go to TF13, but i dont drive and let alone get my band to all drive that far and take off work. Plus to haul all the equipment and power it. But thats a quick pick of my drums. Got about $2000 alone in them. You guys will also need a stage and some sort of tent/roof to cover all the expensive stuff. I would just look into a guy with an amp and mic and can do covers, better than nothing. Im from PA though, not too far. Maybe one year ill make it and bring the bike and set.

Man that would be awesome to have an actual band.
Is this actually going to happen? No one else is posting any interest except for me

Doesn't look that way captain. You currently are the only one that has shown interest in an impromptu session.

Seems like 1-2 people on acoustic guitars sitting around a campfire is the way to go for TrikeFest.
If you strum it, they will come......

I will bring my acoustic also Shane and Mr. sound. Shane and I brought em' last year and never made time to play. I better get playin again.......I am basically a 4-5 chord player only... eagles,country,....katie perry....ya really... I think the stage equipment may be too much to plan for though even though I like to sing and karaoke. We almost flipped my trailer over a few years back when I hosted a k okie party at tfest.......it was doing this I am in for 1 acoustic guitar and 6 chords anyway....

So what kind of music do the general population of TF enjoy?
    That gone country modern stuff
My personal favorite, the 70's. Even though i was born in the 90's.
The be-bop crap on the radio
    Modern rock/hard rock
Metal, probably 80's though. (Iron maiden, Metallica, etc)
Good country music, like Johnny Cash and Conway Twitty

If this Jam session ever actually happened we could probably hold a poll, then learn some covers of the most popular.
