Rigaman is this why you are looking for a LRD pipe and did you ever find out if they still make them? How many mm is that bore?

its 350cc
No. He never got back to me about the pipe. I just want a nice secional pipe.
Tri-z 350. That just sounds magical.

Although my Z runs great as a 250 I'd seriously consider bumping it up to 341. Two issues though: 1) to get the most out of the engine I think he should develop a pipe too as the aftermarket selection for Zs is limited 2) I'm wondering about the possibility of overheating. The stock Z is known for overheating issues. If you increase the displacement of the stock cylinder (with the same volume water jacket) and use the stock radiators, there may be an overheating problem. In any event, I'm still jazzed to hear this news.
Regarding LRD making pipes for the Z, I doubt it. Arlan would do a one-off but I seriously doubt he would do another production pipe. He recently ran out of stamps for the ATC 250R pipe and the last I talked to him it sounded like he wasn't going to make any more. Considering he does a lot of business with the R motor, I doubt he would do it for the Z.

Raffa will be testing it out. I'm sure if there are any issues they will be addressed. Or the project would be scrapped if it can't be fixed. Klemm did big bores for the z before. I think they ran good.
sshhhh! Dont tell Raffa, but I am hot on his trail .
I will start a proper build thread on my bike as soon as I get my motor back form the King of Bling himself. I have been in discussion with Harry Klemm since getting wind of this project and we have finally moved forward. Raffa is still building his bike/motor now but my poor Z was tired of waiting for the proper drive train. I am very excited to get this project finished up and start riding my dream bike. So let it be known that the Tri Z 350 is soon to be a reality
Soory to bring up an old thread from a banned member, but figured this post fit right in here. Again I will start my own thread shortly as I finally am far enough long to feel comfortable sharing my baby

I don't ever go to .org and was wondering about what happened to Raffas 350? I can't wait to hear the details, is this something being offered to everyone? I'm looking forward to hearing more about this!
Is it just my computer screen, or is there only about .080” of cylinder between the piston and the transfer port?
It will be just a matter of time! I originally was the one that put the word out to Brian Two years ago at the invasion, talked to harry many times about building this motor which he agreed on an for me to send him one of my motors, at the time I had way to many fires burning at once and dropped the ball, that's when brian stepped up and followed through with the second gen big bore Z!!!!
I can assure you now that he has his new specs from building brians motor they will be available on request..

Thanks for those pics of the motor. I find it interesting that a second port wasn't created. I wonder why Klemm didn't go that route? Everything I have read about adding that second port to the Z has been a good upgrade for power.

I've seen a factory Yamaha tri z cylinder on eBay with the single boost port enlarged way bigger than that, it was a single port too. From what I've read about Spocks 330 kits that second boost port will crack the jug eventually due to the non balanced engine/ notorious vibration.
With all the ass that a 350 will kick, that's prolly a good idea to leave it alone. I've seen some boost ports even decreased in size with small tubes epoxied in the ports.
.org has been down for days. Raffa actually started his own site dedicated to Trike Racing. You can get at him over there easily. Yes the kits are being offered but still waiting for a compression reading before Harry markets to the public. I have been bugging Harry since last June to get this going and when we talked in Nov he said send it down. I am going to assemble the motor ASAP and get the readings for Harry so we can be sure the head is cut correctly. I have two other heads down there waiting in case
we need to make a change.

Dean I would like to thank you for getting the ball rolling with this. I know most the credit goes to Bryan for ponying up last year, but this thing should be simply amazing. Your Z is a beautiful machine and deserves one of these beasts in the near future. I am hoping to have this bike finished up by the fall and make it to next years invasion to show it off.
