    Suspension Rebuilds!

Just plugging this guy over here, i have no affiliation with him or his business. Paul (manbearpig) threw up a thread about him over on .org and i noticed there wasn't info on here about it. This guy rebuild/revalves suspensions and set's them up for your weight and riding style etc. He has my rear shock from the 86 250r and is doing a full over haul on it with a custom spring and re-valve on it so being a big boy with extended swinger wont slow me down anymore

    Here is the info, Owner/Operator:

    George Spinalli

Paul started the madness with this guy and trike referrals so throw his name out there if you talk to George; Mr Clean and bigDaddvw on 3wo and a few others have used this guy and are supser satisfied. Cant wait to see my shock come back! George will basically tailor your suspension to your requirements, and do it cheap! My full new spring, revalve, rebuild, and spare parts is going to be under 300$ for everything. Cant beat that!

***EDIT if i cant put this in here than please delete, just plugging this service since I know there's more than a few of us that have worn out our 30 year old suspensions

ill just chime in and add that ive had 4 shocks rebuilt by George and havent had a problem with any of the rebuilds. ive had a stock 82 250R shock, 2 vintage aftermarket Works shocks, and a vintage aftermarket FOX "Clicker" shock rebuilt by George. He has always been able to find the parts for these rebuilds, even the hard to find old school FOX shock guts.

i have contacted Works for rebuild info in the past. i was told that there is a 6 week turn around. George's turn around is usually less than 2 weeks if youre shipping in from across the country.

i know alot of you guys are bouncing down the trails on your pogo stick rear shock..stop that! youre gonna get hurt! contact George and get yourself a perty new shock that will TRANSFORM your bike and will also allow you to ride it HARDER

just for the record.. i too have no affiliation or connection with George or Suspension101 aside from being a customer. i do not receive discounts or free service. i have contributed to this thread and have started other threads about this because i have found a guy that does great work, goes the extra mile, knows all there is to know about suspension, is great at communicating, and ultimately because he is local (to me) and his prices are more than reasonable, and because i feel like the community can benefit from his services and knowledge.

IF you do end up making contact with george, let him know that Paul or Jason the 3 wheeler guys gave you his information. he'll get a chuckle out of that.

I think information like this should be kept in another part of the site so it does not get burried. I have susension contact also.

Amen!!! A properly set up suspension will get you around the track faster than any engine mod and it will let you ride many more hours without fatigue.

I just contacted him through his website. We are in the process of emailing to find the best "big boy" setup for my extended swinger 200 Auto-X. I can't wait to have a smooth ride!

Pulled a set of 350x forks and shock to take to Suspension 101 for rebuild. Aside from being pretty stiff, the tubes had pits, so they needed to be replaced. I grabbed a set of 83/84R forks with good tubes and internals to swap in. It wasnt until I set the two X forks on the ground next to each other that I noticed the one fork was 6in shorter than the other. Hmm... Maybe that's why they were stiff.

the 83/84 250r fork tubes are the same diameter (35mm) and length as 350x fork tubes and will swap right in. You will need to use the 350x fork bottoms to retain the leading axle and dual piston brake caliper setup. Also, I've been told that the 250r internals inside the 350x bottoms will offer more travel. I cannot confirm this. The 83/84R forks I took to suspension 101 for this project have a terry kit in them. This terry kit will be going into the 350x bottoms. We'll see how that turns out. Should work well with the 10in wheel procured from Xowner
