JB Weld: More versatile than you thought...

    ...apparently.

now i knew about its uses in building up where metal should be, and fixing items that have broken off... we've all seen that...

but did you know it also works as a carb boot intake leak sealer?

how bout base gasket sealer? Sure... why not?

Wouldn't a hose clamp have been easier? Brings a whole new meaning to "breaking down an engine"...

When I got my 84R, the left side case was JB welded all the way around where the gasket would be. Instead of replacing the gasket, they JB welded the entire thing! I think they should have the person buying the product pass a test before purchasing. Seriously, there are some dumb people out there!

got the carb and intake boot off. no gasket between intake boot and reed cage. reed cage is JB welded into the cylinder. carb is really effing stuck in that boot.

we'll see what its gonna take to get the cylinder off and the reed cage out.. might not be pretty

I've used JB weld on my carb boot in a pinch. Never got so bad that I welded the different parts together though.

I wonder why the person that did this ISN'T locked up. Kind of hard to reverse the handywork of a "Certified JB Welder".
