I must of missed all the hype, but the bike looks awesome. Just a little out of budget for me though to build something like that. That bike makes it look so easy on the track. Almost effortless. I need one.

If your going to spend the time to read and then watch the video, just watch the video. Pretty much the same exact thing, sometimes word for word.

"With a modern day test of the 3985-1986 Honda ATC350X" Just need to edit that one quick ATV on Demand.

I wouldn't read the entire thing either. The video does pretty much cover it all except prices and live links to the manufacturers.

It would be cool if someone built an exact replica, they wouldn't be sorry, but we expect most viewers will pick and choose the items that will make the biggest difference to them.

I am very happy to see. I was at HRE tonight and we were talking about foot pegs on this bike. I did the same thing you did with a 350x but with a wildly fresh hre 200x.

These are the kinds of builds and articles i really enjoy. Nothing beats you talking to a guy who took a 30 year old bike and dumped 6 grand into it and everyone drool.

    Pretty sweet X !!!!

I am not a fan of the foot pegs (made brackets to run any TRX450R pegs on mine) or having to buy race gas.

Love that headpipe and will look into it!!!!

I think my X is moto ready

Too bad I am certainly not with this collar bone floppin around......

And by the way, $225 doesn't seem like a bad deal for that head pipe.... I'm sure shipping isn't included

I think i did something similar for under 4k and that used a crate motor with the megacycle kit.

I am getting it ported now that I'm hurt.

Gotta check out my nos rocker arm pads now that it has some hard hours on it......

Think the XR 400 head pipe fits better.Plus it is bigger.Kasey used one on his last 350x.Have to agree on the cost thing of the build. It is a really nice x.

Oldskool, We almost did a 200X first, but Rob, "chickenhawk" talked me into doing the 350X. If the 350X project brings in the viewers, we may have to go back and do a 200.

Dirtcrasher and Tanks350X, The head pipe is done by Sam Harkabusic, He does a lot of mechanical and fabrication work up in Pa and won the 2012 CRA championship on his ATC250R. If you have a 400EX/400X head pipe, you can save a few bucks by sending him your pipe for a good as new makeover and modification to work on the 350X. Sam also told us that he should be able to do the same mod on just about any aftermarket 400EX header as well. Fitment of the hybrid head pipe was perfect if memory serves me correctly. Did I mention sam is a hell of a guy? http://harkabusicraf.com/

We cant say enough about the motor and the suspension is night and day better!

Please remember as you guys work on your own machines. All of the companies in this project participated to make sure you and other enthusiasts were aware that they have parts for our old trikes. Race Tech had never even done a 350X prior to our project. If you need upgrades, try and show these guys some love.

NEXT we will be producing a vintage test of a stock 1985-1986 ATC250R, followed by our ATC250R Vintage Motocross Project.

    Awesome! Thanks for the link.

The only way I did something similar was by buying stuff cheap , being in the right place and time and having my own machine shop and knowledge to do it.

Parts and services are not cheap. This is an amazing X that will be fast, well suspended and will last a long time.

Anyone can do 1 third of this, 2 thirds or the whole deal; All a benefit to you!!!!

I just sent Race Tech a email on cost.More than likely it will scare me.That suspension looks like it works very well in deed.Chickenhawk makes it look all to easy also.Great machine and hope to see another build!
