Well like I said before its still slow going. I might pull the carb soon and bring it in the house for cleaning.
We are currently living at father in laws house (saving for a down payment) so the trike unfortunately is tucked away in a corner of the yard snuggled up under a tarp with a lawn mower lol

I did finally order those levers I suggested in last post for the price and what I could find they were my favourite
Also received some fuel filters figured why not .99 for 3 of them.

Anyways it's late and feels like I'm just rambling on
I will continue to update even if it takes me forever to Finnish this project I'm sure once we get our own house and my shop things will pick up.

Well i got some time and made some progress on the handlebars
    Heres what i started with

I wish i brought a wire wheel for my grinder but forgot it so started away with the palm sander

Hour or so later and i was done sanding it

Hung it wiped it down with thinner

Let it dry completly, and shot the first coat of paint (i wont bother with multiple pictures of painting it lol)

Like I mentioned before this will be a slow going project, with my busy schedual i dont get much free time latley.

    More to come later

    Thanks
    Dave

Well fellas, I managed to free up some time. Why not its New Years right.
I dragged the machine out from its corner and put it on a milk crate took the tire off and....
Gasket makerd the clutch cover on (I know frowned upon) but I had to see where I sat with this thing.

Previous owner had the cover off when I picked it up

Put some oil in it. Fresh gas. Couple quick sprays of gas in carb and guess what

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...77E002ADEB.mp4

But with good news at this point is usually followed by bad news
With cover off it appeared clutches were ok upon starting I'm almost certain it needs new tranny gears
Has no first gear but was able to putt around a little in second.

Need a shop bad now so I can pull the motor and get a closer look at everything.

    That's all for now

Pic of me and my helper lol

    Thanks
    Dave

I had a 84 200e Yamahauler that I bought just to flip . Looked like urs , better shape ,,, but anyway , I would make sure , or exhaust all other possible problems before I pulled the engine . I have had more than one machine that the guy said it needed a clutch or tranny work , when it was a froze rear brake cable . Is it shifting into 1st ? Maybe its a shift lever , or the splines on the shift shaft . Just saying ,,,

    Chop .

It makes a nasty noise idling loud clunk randomly. It clicks into first makes a little more noise avd struggles to stay running. Struggled to stay running in 2nd as well not sure if it's just cause it's been sitting for at least 2 years or if there's an issue
Not sure where to start from here tranny was first thought

Carb deffanatly needs some attention stuck float or just not sealing starts pissing out the overflow

Haven't updated this thread in a while
I did get a complete tranny plus a few misc items from another member here
Still the wife's lol she's getting more and more excited for it
Can't wait till I have space to work on it and make it the way she has visioned for herself

I picked up a couple big reds (another thread) that I told her she could have instead. But she's still interested in this one

Plus I was NOT painting the big red lol

That's all for right now ill post pics of everything I've accumulated soon (not much of an update but still fun)

    Thanks

Those are YTM 200 gasket kits, most of the gaskets are the same, but the left side of the engine case is different between a 200 and a 200e due to chain vs shaft drive.
If you get a complete gasket kit, you want a 200e kit.

If you want to rebuild the carb, but a kit for a Timberwolf. The two are basically the same carb, but be sure to reuse the jets that are in your carb now. The 200e's are really a pretty nice ride. The forks make a big difference from a trike with no suspension at all. Keep the Yamaha for your wife. Ride the Hondas yourself. Why sell any of them if you can at all avoid it? It doesn't matter if it's pink or not as long as it has three wheels!

no practically all early model yamaha's (moto 4s-timberwolfs tri motos) all had the same carb
so any year timberwolf carb rebuild will be fine!
