    New guy here!! Doing a CRF 230 motor/carb swap into a 84 200x

So while back I bought a 200x with a blown engine and for some reason I always wanted to put a crf 230 engine into it, I liked the idea of an electric start and a bit more cc's. I found a complete running bike for a decent price so I bought it, engine smokes a bit but ill be fixing that.

So fare I have the engine and carb in the frame and the carb is attached to the stock air box. I had to trim the frame to fit the carb in the frame. The motor bolted right in except for the head motor mounts. BUT The chain was way to close to the side of the frame, hardly 1\16, so I moved the whole engine to the right by 3/16, which was as much as I really could, now I have about 1/4 which is still close but alot better.

Also, I have a 10 inch rim up front, something I modded!!

Heres a few pictures, Ill keep updating you guys if your all interested! lol

Hows it ride? Looks like a really nice bike. But wouldnt cutting away the frame there compromise the rigidity and durability? Plus it opens up and exposes the inside of the frame allowing the elements to get inside and potentially rusting from the inside out.

It rides awesome with the 18" tires and the +3 rear axle (spacers) havent tried it with the crf motor yet. I will be making a piece that fits in the slot that I cut out and weld it there, it will close that hole and make it very close to as strong as it was if not as strong as it was.

Heres a couple more pictures, started to fab the slip on, most of the wiring is done, just have to build a battery box. Put it all together to se how it would look as well.

Tonight I finished mounting the wiring, built a braket to hold the CDI box and volt regulator in place.

Past couple days I finished up the battery box and a bracket to hold the solenoid, happy with how it turned out!
It still turns and still has spark
Before I started it up I wanted too clean the gas tank nicely, didn't have time for that yet.
Also put the chain on, as fare as my eye can see it looks good!
Can't wait to try it out!!

Took it out for its first test drive today!! Im very impressed that the gearing is very good! I can wheelie it in all gears haha all the way too 6th gear!
A bit of tuning too do and still stuff to add on it, back brake, chain sliders etc. Drives awesome feels very solid, could do donuts on pavement!!
