This Is way Cool. I have learned a bunch already. Broken Crankshaft on 250ES caused from over reving and if the crank was replaced then it should have a punch mark in the lower right corner where the engine # is embossed.
My feelings exactly.
Kinda scared to read it however.
My life revolves around the 250 es models.
so? just overrevving?
I've seen that happen with people who 'know how to ride' and think that the 'automatic transmission' will shift itself...and wind them to the sky.
I guess if they've made it this long, they'll be ok since we rarely get out of 3rd gear and double or triple idle speed.
Yeah, shift fix for the 125m would be interesting too, well, ALL of it for sure.
ATC70
Note: Bulletins #1 and #2 are not included in the paper copies. Apparently, they are on a microfiche (called out in the Table of Contents, shown in post #1)
ATC70 #3, Revised 9/12/74
ATC70 #4, September 1985
NOTE: This next bulletin is for the CT70. However, it has a tip regarding the points sticking open when the machine is hot, giving a difficult to diagnose situation. It seems appropriate to include here since the ATC70 uses points as well.

Just wanted to say thanks for taking the time to scan and post ups these tsb's. I know it can be somewhat time consuming. I look forward to seeing the SX ones.

Ok. The next block are the service letters (SL). These are more generic. I've been pretty indiscriminate: if it related to ATC's in any way, I've included it. Some are not useful, some are entertaining, and some are actually informative.
SL #16, August 1986
SL #17, October 1986
Good one here:
SL #18, January 1987 - CDI Inspection and Troubleshooting
SL#48 Revised June 1987 - Preparation of New Batteries
SL#78, 6/26/68 - Installation of Transmission Cir-Clips
SL#84, 5/4/71 - Valve Refacing Not Recommended
SL#98, 6/8/73 - Chain Damage Due to Improper Battery Vent Tube Routing
SL#104, 4/26/74 - Gasoline Octane Numbers (NOTE: this is old, so when reading it, realize that the owners manuals for our machines specifies "Pump" octane which is the R+M/2 formula. I included it since I thought it was interesting regarding octane numbers in general)
SL#106, Revised October 1982 (NOTE: Store your speedometers in an upright orientation while on the shelf...)
SL #110, 7/31/75 - Hydraulic Brake Bleeding Precaution (NOTE: Why you don't want to pull the handle all the way on some masters...)
SL #111, Revised 9/13/78 - Motorcycle Washing Precautions (Not as silly as it seems, some common sense here, but worth a read)
SL #114, 10/17/75 - Chemical Damage to Battery Cases
SL#124, 10/11/78 - Speedometer Gearbox Alignment
GOOD ONE ALERT!!
SL#126, 12/27/78 - Tapered Roller Bearing Steering Head Adjustment
SL #133, Revised November 1982 - 1981-82 Off-Road Model Pro-Link Shock Absorber Service
SL #137, September 1982 - ATC and Odyssey Tire Interchange Chart

That's it! No more. We now return your to your regularly scheduled web browsing.
I will take requests via PM. If there is something else in the TOC you want, message me. For a much more organized presentation of the material, head on over to kb0nly's manual site (it is great). http://www.atcmanuals.info/
