I was looking for one a while back and EBay is the only place I have ever seen them.

You could fab something up pretty easy and cheap with a piece of steel plate, a grinder and a drill press.

seems to work just fine. I haven't had a trailer on it but you can stand on it with no problems. I'm just getting this bike put together, new post with pictures pending after I install a new throttle cable.

i have an original oem Yamaha trailer hitch spefically for the dx, with the upper support rods and all. I'd suppose I'd let it go, I've never used it.

I have an oem hitch on mine, and it doesn't have the upper supports, I will take pics of it tomorrow, it does fit a regular sized ball though, have used it a few times to tow vehicles and logs.

here's some poor pics of mine almost forgot about taking them and it was dusk when I did. as you can see it attaches at the top and has a support bracket on the bottom, I talked to the original owner and he purchased the hitch from the yamaha dealership here. Click image for larger version.
