My ATC 70 Build w/ Piranha 150 motor

Here is a project I finally have gotten around to. I bought the bike two years ago and it sat. Now I ordered lots of parts and did some welding and have a good start to my project. I am using a 150cc piranha E-start motor. I ordered the front brake kit and rear brake pedal kit. I still need to sand and polish the red plastics. I also need to mod the gas tank as carburetor hits.

Thanks for the support guys. The hubs are trx450r extended G-force hubs. 250r hubs wont fit the atc70 axle. I extended the frame also 2 inches. I am hoping to get exhaust and electronics all tucked away by end of next week then I need to polish the front and rear fenders.

Here's a little video of my ATC 70 - 150 E-start on the sand so you can get a Idea of the fun & power. I'm on the black tanked 70, following my little brother who's riding my wife's 73 ATC 70 with a 114cc Piranha motor.

John, Very cool video, your bike looks like a lot of fun. I hope to head down to Oregon dunes next year when I get this 70 and my 250r and Tecate done.

I tried polishing the front fender today and had no such luck. All I am left with is a dull finish that wont shine up. I sanded with 400 and 800 grit and buffed with rubbing compound and then polishing compound. I don't think they are oem fenders as I believe they are maiers. So I need to figure out this polishing of fenders as they have lots of scratches and look like crap. If I cant figure it out then I guess I will just buy some new ones.

    more pics

Have more pics. I am having issues with tank hitting the carb big time. I will probably dent the tank a little and shim it up but I am trying to figure out what to do.

You have the right Idea with the gas tank. Most do dent the tank to get the room. I use the bigger fiberglass gas tank that has a big knock out where the carb goes and has plenty of room. last I heard, The guy that makes the tanks wont be doing anymore till the end of the year.
