    '86 200x Conversion E-START,REVERSE,AUTO CLUTCH

Honda should have done this Back In The Day!!!!!! What I have done is Screwed up another Good Honda !!!Man I like this X
Any Way I started with a '86 200x chassis from Mr.Clean along with some other small parts I didn't have and It's all coming together as
Planned! I used a '87 200sx engine and lots of small parts from the Quad! The quads are great parts Machines and so far
I'm very Happy the way this is all working out....So Far I haven't wasted any "Money" This is going to be my Build
    thread so we will see!!!!

Looks like the engine bolted right in with a few spacers added?

Subscribed!!! This gives me a spectacular idea!

I just bought a 250X a couple months ago missing all its wheels, axle, and brakes. Plastic and seat are in ruin....motor is tight, good compression, they had butchered up the wiring on the motor after installing a cam as the story goes and it had no spark. I found the reverse switch wiring was cut up and I believe they have an ignition interlock so that it cannot be started in reverse? Anyway, he kept robbing parts off it for his other quads after he pushed it to the back of the garage until it was in the shape I found it and snatched it up for parts really. I was going to build my wife a decent 250X quad but would rather have a trike.

I know where there are a couple late model 200X rolling chassis at near me that would love to get back on the trail.

anyway I paid 75$ for a motor and carb still bolted to its quad frame.

Sweet project ol deuce! This is the only way I would consider having a second gen.

ironchop, I don't know if you care, but i dont think the 250x motors are of the same configuration as the 200sx. I've looked into making a 250x trike as well. If not the same, a trike frontend on the 250 frame might be a simpler route. Tell me if I'm wrong about your motor because if I am, I want one.

Being a bike builder, I'm sure you know that if the bike has a reverse indicator light, then it can be wired a couple ways to not start in reverse. Through the key, I'm not sure why, but it could be done. Same for neutral, or any other light indicated gear for that matter.

Definitely gonna be checking in on this build!!

the 250 TRX sport Quad is Manuel, chain drive! All this is about having enough room in the chassis for the engine swap.the 2nd gen "R" chassis would be the frame to use!!!! I really don't want to cut frame tubes unless the engine is really Special! Lots of fun!!

Holy shyte, you've blown my mind AGAIN! This is so cool, and I really like the black forks & booties. Are you keeping them black, or do you have different plans?
I've said it once but I must say it again- you really keep it interesting 'round here.
