Billet exhaust flange of factory? 85' 250r

Need a quick answer form someone with experience. Just got my motor back in from a 9 year hibernation and want to be rolling by next weekend. I was putting my FMF pipe back on my 85' 250r and broke the c ring on the exhaust flange so i have to order parts. Never really had a problem with the OEM flange but since i'm messing with it, is it worth it to upgrade to the billet flange with 0-rings or just get another C ring and factory gasket for the stock flange? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I swear by the billet o-ring flanges. They look good, perform awesome, & practically never leak the gooey oil like the stock flanges do. Plus, it's a breeze to slip the pipe on them. I use just a little dab of 2-stroke oil on the o-rings, and a little on the inside of the mating surface of the headpipe, and it slips right on. No more messing with trying to compress that c-ring, and breaking it, or pinching your fingers in the process. The only complaint I've heard about them is that they're made out of aluminum rather than steel, so some people say they won't last very long. I disagree. I think they'll last plenty long, and you'll more than get your money's worth out of them.

Thanks for the input! I noticed there are 2 different ones... One with 2 and one with 3 o rings. What one do you use?

I highly recommend the billet flanges also. I have the 2 ring ones on my bikes, but the 3 is probably even better.

You're welcome. My billet flange is of the 2 o-ring type, and no leakage at all.

I also have the 2 o ring style. I think its one of the best $45 upgrades you can get. Works great.

Thanks guys! ESR has them on sale right now and enough of you run the 2 ring style to where i have enough confidence that it will work. Thanks again!
