I will take some better pics in the morning with light, so you can see what I have to work with. it's been sitting for 5 years, and will need the carb cleaned and the plastics shined up, but I am going to sell it with almost all of my spare 200 parts for around 600$ that is the same motor I used to make my chain driven fully suspended 200 in a 225dr frame. I repaired the shift shaft yesterday during lunch what I am going to do is put both parts in the lathe and center drill 1/2 inch deep with a 5/32 drill and machine a 7/8 pin to press fit in between the two halves. I am also going to put a taper on the end of each and press them together then weld them up. After wards I will then place the welded shaft in the lathe and turn the excess weld off, and re cut the c-clip groove for the finish. Henceforth is the most perfect way to repair the dreaded ytm 200k shift shaft break. all in all it should only take about an hour to do this repair. One thing I failed to mention is that before welding the two pieces together I need to to put a center hole in the broken off stub to allow my live center to hold the shaft true when I turn the weld. And now you all know that I am a machinist lol. We did repairs like this at a shop that I worked in when I lived in california. On a much larger scale dealing with one inch and these were stress proof material so we had to preheat and use 4140 heat treated stubs but a much similar process. I am going to take pictures to help show how I am doing the repair.
