Is a Chinese carb worth buying?

I have an atc70 with some carb issues. The choke lever is broken, and the choke is all wabbly and doesn't stay in place. Making it run bad. The petcock doesn't stop gas from flowing through, and the O ring on the petcock leaks gas al over the engine. The carb is nasty inside, un-cleanable. Should I buy a Chinese carb? They are only $25 on eBay, they look fine. The petcock is on the correct side. It seems like it would be worth it, cause my carb is crap. Should I get one? Or just try to fix the problems with my carb?

I just put a Chinese carb on my 70. Be careful though because some of the carbs they sell on Ebay have the petcock on the right side and not the left. I bought a carb from Wincycles on Ebay for 49.00. It is correct for the 70 in that the petcock is on the left and the jetting is correct for the 70. Hopefully you have the stock air cleaner for it. The 70s don't like other types of air cleaners.

I used a Chinese carb from an xr50 clone/big bore engine that had no petcock, by drilling the vertical hole up through the casting, plugging the top fuel fitting, and using the Honda atc70 bowl and petcock. Worked like a charm! I'll take a picture and post it up.

ID:	198071 This in on my CT70. I did have to go up one jet size on the main, and one clip position lower on the needle since the carb was originally intended for a 110cc, and its on an XR50 engine.

I just did one on mine and found that it ran worse. Good news is that it appears they are recasts of the original carb so I just swapped in a few pieces from the old carb (main jet, throttle slide, needle, choke lever & shaft and cap/top) and it runs really well.
