Helicopters? Now that's probably something not too many of us here have tackled. As for the rest, I'm sure most of us are also into quads/cars/trucks/SUV's.

Welcome glad to see an 84 ES being restored, they really are very capable, awesome machines and don't seem to get a whole lot of attention here but I love them, post lots of pics of build.

    Refurb done 1984 ATC2000ES

For all the purest out there, this was not a restoration to factory production standard. It was done for maximum usability and longevity. As we say at work, if you want to do restorations go work for the Smithsonian Institute. I use It every week for yard work or joyriding, this is not a museum, ride them like you stole them I say. All crome plated parts ie , handle bars, shift selector, foot break, rear bar, headlight bezzle was rusty. I glass blasted, acid etched, primed and painted satin nickel with a slight metal flake. I felt rechrome was expensive and counterproductive for the long run. Racks were Linex sprayed, thanks Agri Sport my boy Steve. Fuel tank painted by a good fried of mine at Duhon's Autobody... thanks Craig. Seat recoverd at Jeff"s Upholstery. Frame brushed, scotch brited, rust converted, primed & painted satin black. Most parts are from Bike Bandit, Rocky Mountain & Beatrice Cycle. Reproduction decal kit from Akuma Salas & Motodecals off of ebay. As yall may notice some decals are not stock, Honda should have put 200ES decals on it anyway. Fenders, trunk & headlight off of Ebay & I bought a extra set in case I crack another one and plastic restored with PC Racing Plastic Renew. I also added a hour meter / tach with mounting bracket by Trail Tech, (Bike Bandit). I had a plastic milk crate on the front rack before,, found a metal on on ebay for $15 dollars, cut it down and painted. Engine oil & final drive serviced with AMS Oil synthetic. My wife says it looks better than when they bought it new....that was 30 years ago... she was 14, like she remembers.... well that was a long time ago and she loves me!!! I would like to thank football... sanding is a boring thing, & Bud Lite for all the support. Hope yall enjoyed this thread, time to crack a beer and go ride!!! I will post more detailed pictures in a few days.
