Kawasaki KLT160 that needs a little help....

    Hey Guys,

Ran to Syracuse tonight and picked up a 1985 KLT160 for a couple of hundred bucks. Supposedly it stopped starting a week
ago after being left outside during a downpour. Well it looks like it lived outside with the fading on it's plastics so it is going
to take a little bit to figure it out. The petcock leaks, very little rust in the tank, but some on the outside, pretty clean underneath
except for the muffler that has been welded. And all of the plastics are pretty much intact only the one mudflap is busted.

Have to have Mrs. Mosh work on the seat this winter as this cover is a little thin and worn at the seams. Foam seems good though.

Thanks. There was a really nice one closer to me this summer, but I missed it.....of course that one ran and didn't need work.

I guess I just have another odd ball added to the herd that needs work is all.

Hey! KLTs are not oddballs! They out number the Hondas at my place......of course Hondas out number the KLTs when it comes to runners though.

You do have a collection of them, very nice. I didn't bother with it tonight. I'm already not liking the cool weather we are getting.
Wish I had a warm place to work on my trikes through the winter.

I'm with ya there...My "garage" has no heat or electric so my basement gets a little "greasy' smelling over the winter.

Decided to start working on the KLT....in winter of course, but since it was 70 just the other day it really
    isn't winter yet.

I had the tank powder coated and the place calls is tattooing or something like that , but the Camo ink is baked
into the clear on the tank. Really durable....enough so that they are doing all the new ARs from Remington the
same way. I also decided to try TARJAC for the camo dip on the plastics since they are just up the thruway and
I wouldn't need to ship them.

The trike is getting torn down this week and powdered matte black.

Thanks I was just happy the camo patterns matched pretty well for color and size. They also black out the bottom of the plastics as well
so it looks great. What turned out great is the tank. It is all dented up, but unless you are right next to it you can barely see the dents
    with the camo pattern.
