    My 80cc collection

Well I wont bore everyone with a long story but aside from my other builds I wanted to restore nice low hour 80cc bikes my friends and I had back in the mid 80's. My first bike was the 83 rm 80. My friends had the following; 86 kx 80, 86 rm 80, 86 yz 80 and the last one to join the group was the 87 cr 80. Those were the days...after school in the sandpits everyday, no worries, no real problems. These took me a couple of years to build. The first challenge was finding decent bikes that weren't trashed by 20 kids over the last 28 years. The 83 rm 80 I found was actually in better condition than the one I bought in 85. Lots of NOS on these bikes!!!

Other smaller or lesser known companies, such as Tiger ATV, Franks, and Cagiva, produced racing three wheelers, but in much smaller numbers. Few of these machines are known to exist today and are highly sought by collectors.

Very cool! Kid's machines are usually so beat, but you've done a great job making them new again!

wicked cool! my pals in the day had the same rm and kx! I was always sucking fumes on my 86 xr80, but loving every minute! Excellant job on those. They look so bad for little 80's!

Nice collection! I'd love to be "bored" by a long story about that era. Those were the days... I had a 79 YZ 80 and my riding buddies were a mix of all the brands at that time. The only worries I had back then were not failing math class and paying for my next tank of gas. Thanks for the memories.

Wow, but I expect nothing less than spectacular from your stable. My old man made the mistake of taking me to the Honda dealer in about 1987 or so. The thought of those new CR's sitting in the showroom were the stuff dreams were made of.

Excellent stable! My tastes aren't so narrow, you should try a BW80 on for size.

That is an awesome collection! I am very familiar with the 1987 CR80 (I owned one when I was younger). I actually owned three different 80s when I was younger, but I only owned them one at a time. I had a 1984 KX80, 1987 CR80, and 1985 YZ80. Fun bikes! I would like to get an 87 CR80 again one day.

Need a KTM80 to complete that collection. my friends had those too and I had an 86200X so I was odd kid out, but loved the 80s styles. Todays bikes don't interest me at all the way they look with the thin seats.....

I too love the smaller bikes. Even as an adult they are still a ton of fun in the woods. A really nice collection you have, mine looked the exact opposite of what you've got there.

    I had a 1983 Honda CR60R, 1984 Kawasaki KDX80, 1987 Honda CR80R

Man that 87 CR80R was very fast!!! FMF pipe & silencer, FMF reeds & stuffer, opened up the airbox, Twin Air filter, Answer Roost Boost, 6 paddle hooker paddle, plus 1 rear sprocket, jetted carb.

That thing would smoke a good running ATC 250R, Banshee or Tecate with paddles up Comp., Olds or the Wall in Glamis....of course I was pretty light at the time!

I always wanted a KTM80MX, but my father loved Honda's I raced alot of ADRA desert & GP's races then and those Katooms were very fast in a straight line!

    OH the memories
