    UPDATED PICS.

This was made from a 74 PaceSetter III (which sold to Commutor Industries). 346cc(11HP) Predator engine. New Comet Torque converter drive and driven. New bearings, locking collars, custom exhaust and muffler, aftermarket air filter, Yamaha warrior fuel tank and the list goes on. I have around $700 in parts in this beast so far. It's been a fun but sometimes exasperating project. Last part to add is going to be a thumb throttle. I am willing to sell if anyone is interested. As i said before I do have over $700 in parts alone into this baby (well worth it) so shoot me a resonable offer.

Nice work! I like it because it is so different from most of the trikes that you are likely to see. And welcome to the site, btw!

Can you point me in the right direction? I know what they are and have them on my Tote. Where and how do I get started?

first you have to make your forks into what we call "high speed forks"

you want to crash into something like a wall at speed. make sure you do this directly head on, as to not bend either side more than the other

of course you could also cut a triangle chunk out of each side and reweld them. might be better.

once you move your forks back toward the bike, you make your leading link that puts the wheel around the same original position. then you weld tabs to mount shocks on either side.

thats a real good pic to show several things about a leading link

you can clearly see the axle is located directly on the line the forks WOULD have been without the bend

some leading links are seperate on smaller bikes, moped etc, but with big tire bikes its best they are connected into a U shape so they move the same and dont try to move up and down seperately, twist and bind and mess something up

"making do with what you have" nice job putting all that together just as a point of info the pacesetter was the predecessor (sp?) to commuter industries who bought out pacesetter and pretty much used the same design but are 2 different companies
you know whats right therefore you know what is expected
