Honda 185 way high idle - too strange

Great running 185, got 'stolen' and partially stripped.
They stole some nuts and bolts and exhaust.
So we put it back together and it idles on the way to redline.
Changed the carb, intake parts, boot etc from known working trike
    and still ldles racing high.
Timing was not touched or changed.

Make sure the carb slide isn't installed backwards. Not trying to insult you, but I have had a similar problem, and that was the cause.

I too have put slides in backwards from time to time, also make sure the w clip for your main needle is in there, I have had a clip come out before and the needle was lifting causing a racing idle
rectum nothin damn near killed them

Did you pull the CDI cover and check to insure that the spark advance springs are not broken? Again, not trying to insult you, just drawing on my very limited knowledge.
