Billy, that seems nearly impossible - that is a terrible long way to ride a bike! Will you be taking highway or trails? LQTM

I'm mailing a swingarm and front end for the rotax ahead of me and riding it there as a 2 wheeler actually. ..

Great idea Billy! Do a wheelie the entire way out here so your front tire will have good tread left on it for the dunes. We will have a cold beverage waiting for you - wheelie safely!

    Short Version:
Did we settle on a spot yet? Trying to sort logistics between me in TX, dad in NoCal, and RV in SoCal. Looking at Gordon's Well RV Park. Is that a good option for this trip?

    Long version:
Grew up riding Glamis in the early 80s.
Made a 1/2 day stop at Buttercup 2 years ago with a Tecate I bought in Corona and hauled back to TX.
Been thinking about Invasion for a few years.
    It's on this year.
Going to haul the 3 wheelers out from TX in the van.
My dad wants to join in - he lives in Sacramento.
Camping in the van for a few days is OK but a no go for a week so we're looking at renting an RV trailer and dad picking it up with the Powerstroke in SoCal on the way in from Sacramento.

Since this is all new to us - we're looking at the Gordon's Well RV park. Is this a good option for camping at invasion? Don't want to get the 2WD Powerstroke stuck in the sand. Would be nice to have beds and showers.

    Thoughts? Tips? Pointers?

John, I have never stayed at the RV park out there. We always just camp around center field at Gordon's Well. It is pretty hard pack to be able to get where we camp. Ideally we find a mini track and wagon wheel around it. I have pulled many a fithwheel in there and never had a problem. I'll hit you up. If you need anything I'd be glad to help.. Looks like it might be a little bit of a Rampage Reunion this year...

For someone who has never been here is some info you might be looking for: The Invasion is usually staged in a flat sandy area on the edge of the Sand Dunes(we call it third base). I believe that Gordan's Well RV Park is located about 2-3 miles away from the area that most of the people who attend the Invasion will be camping. I do believe that the RV Park does have full hook-ups and the third base area is dry camping. Just some things to think about.

There are a few companies that will deliver, setup and pickup RVs for you at Gordon's Well. Come with a generator, full of water, etc., Some are completely turn-key and others need you to bring bedding, cookware, etc. CampNStyle is turn-key (a little bit more expensive) and Albert's RV rental is a cheaper option. CampNStyle trailers are nicer, but Albert's are completely functional as well. You can find their phone numbers via google searches. I've used both before.

I am going to be ordering an RV to be delivered within the next couple of days. Does anyone have actual GPS coordinates for whee we will be camping? This will be important to us to be in the circle with the group.

How about where ever you drop that RV is where camp will be established?

That sounds awesome, although as I think it through, it won;t be delivered until Monday or early Tuesday. I guess I can tell the delivery guy to go to right field (is that right????) and look for the trike guys. I know the Halls will be there already. Who else is arriving and what are you driving. When will you arrive Mike? I am getting very giddy about this whole endeavor!
