    CR 80 trike

I just aquired a cr80 bike that is a bit rough but is complete and runs. Does anyone know of someone here that has done a cr80 trike conversion ?. This little bike rips, I think it would make a real fun small trike.

I have heard of guys putting cr80 motors in 200x,250r chassis. I haven't heard of a cr80 conversion. I'd say go for it, what year is the cr80?

There are a few on here. I am pretty sure Jason Hall built one for his son. And I reecall another thread but cant find it for the life of me of another CR 80 conversion. I alson recall 86t3 had an RM80 conversion trike. It looked pretty good too. I am pretty sure he sold it as it was for sale in the classifieds.

This thread talks quite a bit about them http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthr...ght=rm80+trike

I haven't looked to see what year it is yet. I know Jason put the 80 engine in a 250r frame but I would kinda like to use the cr80 frame. It would be nice to find some pictures of one that has been done before. I would like to keep the scale of the trike somewhat small.

That RM 80 is what I'm looking to do. Bigger than an atc 70, but smaller than a 250r.

I don't know what Ben used, but if I decide to do this it would most likely be a custom swinger.

Ben modified a 84/85 T3 swinger.. it took a lot of cutting and welding to make it work the way he wanted. .

Jason Hall DID build for one for Jacob and it's a BLAST!! to ride.....

I'm over 200lbs and it pulled great, it's FAST.

But a lean teenager could be a deadly threat!!!! on that thing!!

Lots of custom work on Jasons.

Only progress made has been the mechanicals to the bike its self. Went through the carb, cleaned the air cleaner, oil change, straitened the sub frame, ect. It's a blast to ride!. I am still trying to decide what direction to go with this. Haven't decided to go with the inverts on the 80 or use the inverts on my 250r. Going through my pile of left over parts to see what axles , carriers and wheels I have that can be used. My main stumbling block is going to be how to deal with the stearing geometry and how the keep the ride hight down if I use the cr80 frame. I am surprised that this doesn't seem to be a common conversion. It sure seems it would make a great little trike.

Yeah I am currently also toying with this idea as well! I Know where I can get a cr80 for $250 that needs a top end I think. I have a spare 250r axle, hubs and carrier that I'd like to incorporate. Couldn't you just modify the stock triples or have similar ones made to accept the cr forks and then keep that rake? Or is that too much/little rake and have you come up with any ideas on a swinger?
