    Installed XR400 header on 350x

Saw a post that Kasey put on a xr400 header as a bolt on option. So decided to search for one this week. Bought 1 locally for $50.00 yesterday. Ground down the inner welds and polished before installing. With minor adjustments and fitment went on real nice. Took off what I believe was an old DG Header. Installed and took it for a spin shortly ago. Will go for an all day ride this weekend.

My 350x came with a fmf powerbomb header. I am thinking it was for a XR 400. Backfired bad when I first got it. I have new DG exhaust for it now.

So much for keeping it clean. Took it for a test ride today, 30+ miles. No problems. Hate packing up though

xr400 measurements from the the cylinder -1-1/10 (28mm), at the midpipe 1-1/2 (38mm). I will say it's just like the 400ex header. Stainless steel. but fits perfectly in the cylinder head.
Couple things I had to do. The flanges that bolt to the head. I had to widen just a little for the head bolts. I did have to measure and cut the pipe that connects to the mid section. Since the pipe is much longer than what we need. I measured and cut near the clutch cable connection. I installed the muffler section then measured to the head cylinder. the pipe diameter fits perfectly in the muffler section.
Side note. Looks very similar to the atv on demand header from Harbusic.
