Picked up my first Suzuki 3 wheeler ever.

Picked up an ALT50 Trail Buddy. I've been looking for one of these for awhile. They seem to be hard to come buy in my area. Here's a pick next to my JR50. It appears to be in gear all the time, no neutral. My JR has a foot shifter with neutral. I checked a parts schematic and it looks like it should have a shifter. I don't see where it would go on either side and there's definitely nothing where the shifter is on my JR50. Ir seems to idle slow enough but still wants to pull a bit at idle, it could really use neutral! Thoughts on this? Any other comments or suggestions? I know nothing about them other than knowing a bit about the JR.

werent those fully automatic....with a centrifugal clutch like a gocart?

Yeah basically but I would think there should still be something preventing it from moving if a kid accidentally hits the throttle before he is ready, but maybe not. My JR50 is basically the same engine but it has neutral and forward, no other shifting. And on the Yamahas, they have the "start" position that won't let the bike move if the throttle is hit before the rider is ready.

There is a brake lock for the front brake, it will only start wen set. They are fully automatic

you could turn the idle down some, so the clutch isnt grabbing as hard when idling. i have the same set up on my 2002 quadmaster lt a50 quad.

It doesn't really want to idle any lower. And it does seem a bit lean at idle. I'll trying cleaning the pilot.

It is a centrifugal clutch. There is no changing gears. Also there is no front brake, it is rear brakes only. If the brake is properly adjusted, it will hold the bike still with the throttle fully open.

Haha I was tired. I meant rear brake, I can hold mine wide open and it will not move.

Same thing with my Zinger. I just got it all together and running but it seems to creep when idling with no brakes applied. With the parking brake on it's just fine. Wasn't sure if all smaller trikes like these did that? I don't remember the PW's doing that very much as a kid

not sure about the zuke but my zinger had a return spring (a lot like a minibke clutch spring) that was broke letting the pads sling out too early sorry not sure on the ALT as so far all my zukis are acting ok other than the 185 is slipping some
