We're just 4 short days from clicking first gear in the 2015 NORRA Mexican 1000. The bike is done, the spare and pit boxes are built and we're ready to go. It's gonna be one hell of a ride and to say I'm stoked is definitely an understatement.

If anyone is interested in following our progress, I've included a link to our SPOT GPS Tracker. The location will update every 10 minutes and if all goes as expected, it will keep on moving. I've also attached a link to the Chase maps. The official course hasn't been released yet but by looking at the maps, you can get a basic idea of where we'll be racing. Finally, the picture shows the schedule of each day and the anticipated start times. We'll probably get the SPOT started early each morning so if it doesn't appear to be moving, stand by as we're likely in line at the start.

Thanks again to everyone and I'll try to post updates whenever possible.

No need to apologize!! Because NORRA does the race as a rally (a timed event) there are sections where you're racing (Called a special) and there are times when you're in a speed restricted area (Transfer/Transit) used to connect the Specials. The transfer/transit section is usually a public highway/town etc where you wouldn't want people racing. When racing with SCORE, a road section has a speed limit and if it's exceeded, you'll incur time penalties. Not sure about NORRA but it's best to follow the speed limit whenever possible while on the public roads.

Thanks a ton for that info! Makes more sense now.
do people try to take advantage of their position in the transit area and gain spots or are people usually honest and stay in position? I am asking because I was wondering if I needed to be aware of racers when in the transit and them trying to sneak past for better positioning.

Since you're not racing in the transfer sections, the order in which you arrive at the next Special doesn't matter. Since you're racing the clock you can take your time getting to the next special. Not too much time because stages do have a "Close" time where you would "Hour-Out" and ultimately DNF for that special or possibly that day.

NORRA may do something different but in a couple weeks, I'll have a better understanding and I'm be happy to pass the info along.
