    New, to me, husky

Just brought home an '86 (or 88) WRK 125. I didn't need it but couldn't pass up the price. Looks to need a top end but nothing else. Got it from some guy who looked straight out of an American Pickers episode.

First, I love that show & my wife does too, which makes it extra cool!

It's a 1988 cool bike, I call it the Kawasaki KDX 200 killer. Just as fast, feels a ton lighter.

Just thinking out loud, that would make a very cool trike??? Tricky Dick's Part 2.

    I love Husky's even Italiano Husky's.... Cagiva's- in white, blue & yellow.

Yeah it would make a cool trike but wife would kill me. For some reason it is no longer mine. Seems the wife is expecting me t0 rebuild it and let the son ride it to school every day. WTF? As for the American Pickers.... This guy had 190 of those pedal tractors, 2100 Hotwheels cars still in the packages, 3 gas pumps, a 52 Buick, a 46 Ford convertible, a 49 Ford wagon, a sweet Fairlane, nice late 50's Plymouth, a 46 chevy semi converted into a 5th wheel hauler, a couple early 40's John Deers, a daily driver 50 something pick-up, a 37 Ford, about 5000 toy trucks from the 30's through the 60's, and the list goes on. WOW , we spent 3 hours walking around with him taking the tour. Great old Guy!

Frame number has it as an 88. I can't seem to find any list that has the engine numbers on it for those 3 years that the WRK was in production. Have found that stock it had a 54mm piston. I seem to be able to find up to 55.9mm for a replacement. It has a 56.5 piston in it now. Buddy at the shop measured it out to needing a 57mm once it's bored out. Looks like it had been re-sleeved (many moons ago) because the ports and the sleeve are off ever so slightly. Buddy says it looks to be a Wiseco piston but the number on tom was destroyed when the ham fisted mechanic before me pounded the piston out. Everything else seems awesome so once I get this piston thing figured out it shouldn't be too hard to get back on the road. Have always wanted to get some '08 or'09 forks for my Husky cr125 (99). I was thinking maybe I could take the '99's forks and retro them onto the '88, lace up a 17" front wheel and turn it into a motard for the son. He'd be the only kid at school riding a Husky to class.

Hmmm- The 1988 looked like this-

Who knows Husky/Cagiva was not going so well back then.

Motard 125 for school would be cool.

    For pistons check this out-

It's not a WR, it's a WRK, not to be confused with a WRE. What a train wreck right? No matter, will get it figured out eventually and it will be a nice addition to the Husky collection. A little Swedish, Italian, German, Austrian History lesson in my garage. lol
