    ASV C6 brake handle installation

Does anyone have experience installing the ASV C6 brake lever to the 250r? The package says this lever fits the 86 250r and I would think that my 85 250r shares the same front brake master? At this point, it looks like I need to modify my master mount for this to work, but I don't want to start grinding if I don't have to.

Any help is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

I know on the F3's you have to grind the collars a bit for the brake lever. No experience with the C6's though..

nothing is ever "bolt on" despite claims. Have the part numbers double checked to ensure they are correct. I know the TRX250R is different from the ATC250r so they may have sent you the incorrect ones, but double check. On my son's race quad, we had to modify the levers some as well so it may be normal.

On ASV's website, they only list levers for the '87-89 TRX 250R.

    ^ Nice find
So it appears, there's the reason they have an issue fitting. if you got to ebay and get the TRX levers they should bolt on better and you can run the AVS.

I have done some double checking. 85-86 ATC share the same master cylinder part number with the 86 trx. So the 86 trx won't work. I have also found that the 87-89 trx share the same master cylinder part number which is different than the 85-86. So, when I bought these I thought they would fit the 85 ATC master since it shares the part number with the 86. Now I am looking for an 87-89 trx master. Anybody have a good working 87-89 master they want to part with?

ASV is a pain in the arse!!

Just last night I was looking into YFZ or TRX masters and the 400EX (certain years was only about 90$) but I can't find an ASV to match it.

I have numerous ASV's when they were repairing them and selling them on EBAY, that seems to have stopped.

I just want to buy a brand new black front master and an anodized red ASV lever for it. I'm not finding it in initial searches.

If anyone finds something, please post it and I'll do the same

If you are using a twist throttle, just buy a cr125-500 or any crf###r/w front masters.

Alright, I figured it out. If you buy a set of C6 levers you have to use the TRX master. I ended up using an 89 master. Then I had to make two tiny mods.

    1. There is a very thin "stop" on the back side of the lever. This actually hits the master housing so I cut that off.
    2. The Honda bushings that come in the kit need to be shaved down slightly so the lever will slide into the master. I am fairly certain this has to be done with the ASV f3 as well.

That's it. Hopefully this thread helps someone else.
