My tecate would run at 150 psi. Sounds like a compression issue.

I'm certain it's NOT a compression issue. Before this thing took a crap....it started second kick and would run all day without issues.

    Hey John!!

Thanks for the B-Day wishes. 48. Sometimes I feel much older. LOL

Well....It's got a brighter blue spark. Not much better but better none-the-less.

    Still wont start.

I'm out of oxygen and acetylene...can't find a lighter to save my life and my torch sparker has no flint. LOL

I'll be building my first CDI today. Its not a Kawasaki cdi, but it looks tuneable by altering the caps used.

I rebuilt my stator about 4 times before I broke down and. Ought Ricky's stator. Ran for a few minutes and died.

Replaced the ignition coil with a new one, one from a blaster, and another one from a tecate.

I exchange my flywheel with John thinking that was it. It had a weaker magnet, but that wasn't it.

I finally replaces the CDI with another one. Possibly from a kx125. Same story.
Still no fire in the hole. Send me your address and I'll get one in the mail 2moro.

I do appreciate all the work and effort in building these CDI boxes. I'm sure many a Tecate will be saved from being parted out or untimely deaths from your efforts.

Pm sent. First test on home made cdi(dt125 replica) had odd results, but sparked. I'll further document this in my thread on the tecate cdi recreation.

Kx80 CSI from 79-80 gave real hot spark BTW. Plugged in no problem except for the coil. It requires a different end. Round plug vs spade plug.
I just wanna go fast. If your not first, your last!!
Reproducing the Tecate CDI. Contact me if you need one. I'm most accessible on FaceBook. You can find me on the 1984-1987 Kawasaki Tecate KXT250 Group.
