IMHO, I don't think I could apply this much tension to cause a failure. For me it was a cost benefit thing. Like I said, IMHO.
BTW, that's 20% more than a grade 8 and equal to a cap screw. Just sayin. Works for me.

I found a used set of the full hub type that are grooved on the outside for cheap last night. I bought those which were 1.5'' and bought some 2'' stud type also. I'll update later this week when they come in.

I agree. The longer they are the more tension will be put on them too. I ordered both types to try, and because I could use the other on a quad. I'll let everyone know
