So my son got a new toy and the bug bit him

After 3 years of asking. I finally found a sweet deal from a fellow board member for a 70. Clean and nice shape.

Tucked away next to big brother for the week.

Now he is asking if we can build him one with suspension. It bit him fast! First day of having it and he wants more. LoL

Just get him your favorite...Flexx Bars!

That thing is real clean, it just needs a sticker kit.

Are you eyeing those heel guards?

Funny thing is I race a 1982 250r at that age. (I was a bit bigger)

On the way home, he was trying to race me on the 200x. you believe that crumb snatcher? KIDS!!! I had to tell him to slow it down, as he is not used to the trikes riding style yet and I would have hated for him to fall off if he had to do a hard turn at speeds. Once he gets more comfy with it, Daddy's gonna school him on riding a trike.
That little thing will scoot that's for sure. we must a been doing close to 30 and he was humming along in 3rd gear like it was cool.

LOL I thought about the heel guards for about 2 seconds and decided Meh they are for him. He asked me this morning about my 200x if he could try it out. I'm not sure I'm quite ready for him to mess with it just yet. Let me get it setup with the new MX stuff and I'll let him putt around on it then.

he has ridden and driven my old YFZ450r around the track and trails a couple of times. he could not do much because he is so small the pipe got too hot and would burn his leg. So who know s what is in the future. Maybe a water pumper may be in the works in a couple of years. If I need one, I'll let ya'll know as I would be looking for a clean one.

Forgot to add. Sticker kit? I'm going to see about having a graphic kit made for it so we can make it at least have similar graphics as his race quad. would be cool with a race looking setup. I'm toying around with the idea of dropping an automatic 125 on it so it is electric start and little more get up and go.

Yea the little 70s will move on even with the stock engine. That engine is also bulletproof. I believe the engine in the 70 is one of the most reliable engines of all time.

I'd think hard about the 125cc engine. I have one and it will throw a 300lb man right off the back without any trouble. I've made a fool of most of my friends with it LOL.

Agreed. Mine has to bump start and every one that rides it goes over backwards. Its kinda like a rodeo. If my friends make it more than 8 seconds i'm impressed.

    Yes, Yes it is.....

I have an auto shift 110 that will raise a grown man's eyebrows. I think that would be more than enough for your son to get his kicks.

Yea I agree. We used to build racing Chinese motors and we would get about 15-17hp out of a 125. It was good for 4-5 races. If we did a 110 with just a few small tweaks. It would go from 5hp to 9 hp and work well. Buty thought is maybe just install the 88cx BB setup with big valve head and cam and let it run. It is not for top end racing but torque for getting around atoned RPMs in the trails.
