    Yamaha Big Wheel

i'm the proud owner of an 85 BW200. Just picked it up, along with an BW80 that i couldn't pass up in a package deal. The 200 is in real nice shape. its a good runner/rider, which is what i wanted. some dirty dog welded the kicker to the shaft, and did a piss poor job of it to boot. what are my options? i can't dig into this bike right away as time is at a premium. but i want to get my head around what will need to be done when i do have the time. pics probably today.

The shaft is probably ruined, but you have a small chance of getting it re-welded. As long as it works to start the bike, I wouldn't mess with it. 200's are fairly easy to jump start in case it breaks while on the trail. The shaft is available as a replacement part as long as you have the time and know-how to put it in. The 85 model is kick-only, so don't spend any time hunting for an add-on electric start. Good luck!
