I need your help. As the OEM restoration of my 86 250R is coming to a close, I need to decide what to do with an 85 that I have. I am torn. Should I restore it back to OEM as I did the 86 (see my other posts for pics) or should I do a resto-mod. Here is where I am at....The 86 will be placed on a rack in my garage and never used. I want to sit in my chair and drink a beer and stare it. The 85 Ii THINK I want to ride it. II have other quads that I ride, so its not like I am needing to ride the 85. If I go OEM with the 85, id be afraid of getting it dirty, breaking a fender, etc. If I do a resto-mod, Id drive it to show off, not race through the woods or anything......So if Im not going to drive it to its potential, why not go OEM.. agghhhhhhh. ANy thoughts?

Make it into a resto-mod imo, would be nice having an OEM 85 and an 86 though. Or buy another one and make that into a rider

My vote is resto-mod/rider, it's nice seeing other trikes while out riding!

I've decided to go all OEM with the 85 too. It will look nice on the shelf next to the 86!

I can see why it would be cool to have both fully restored and on a shelf.

But, having a good resto-mod rider is tons of fun too!!

Maybe Samjp22 is onto something... If the '85 you have is a good foundation for an OEM restore, go for it.. But you might be crazy to pass up doing a nice resto-mod in the future. R's are still fast and fun...even more so on both counts when you start doing some good mods!

Mechanically solid, fast as jack-rabbit on a date, a pretty to boot...what's not to like about that??

    .
Go to your local cruise night and check pout all the 500 hp cars with $20,000.00 paint jobs that you know never get driven to their potential and are just for show.

Build the crap out of it and chrome everything and just cruise around and look cool.
