    Help with this woodruff key

Looks like the previous owner welded this... Well it broke on me. Anybody has an idea to fix? Click image for larger version.

There are two options. The first is more expensive and more time consuming but it would be done right would be to replace the broken shaft and rebuild the motor. Or option 2 which i would not recomend would be to weld another key in this is not the best option.

I would weld it back in. Damage is already done. Send it down the road to a new home.

x2....replace the crank or take that one to a machine shop and see what they can do. My guess is they will tell you to replace it as well.

This is exactly why I hate buying used atv's, with my luck this is the one I'd buy.

I hope you disclose to the future buyer you have jb welded the key that keeps the engine in time. Jb weld has a place and IMO this isn't one of them.
