Saddleback Park from the early 1980s

    Some photos Saddleback park

Wonder how many of these stars and future stars you guys can name? At least nine current or soon to be factory riders in this group. The 250 class is in front and the 200 riders are the ones in the back not yet lined up as they would start us in two waves.

Always a good turn out for races on the big track at Saddleback. I am on bike number 171, second row on the far right.

Freaking TREASURE!!!!!!! I was talking with Jim the other day and told him you came out of the woodwork. That man has a TON of admiration for you and your family. He said you are just class from head to toe. Thank you for sharing John!! Keep digging lol.

Of all the riders i raced against Jimmy White and Gary Denton always, and i mean always, found their way to the front early in the race so you had to deal with them if you wanted a shot at winning.

    .
John . . this is mike from Kawasaki . . I was at the last 3 wheeler short course race at saddleback and won that race and jimmy got second . . I was also at the baja cross before that . . I probably had number 24 but I was on a tecate with a white kawi shirt and white shoulder pads, white helmet, and green and white kawi pants so it would be fairly easy to see me in a photo .

unfortunately I can not view the photos you posted because the site has blocked jpegs like yours from my computer . . anyway, I would love to see them and if you have any of me and would also love to have copies if that’s possible . . unfortunately every single photo I had of everything in my life is gone.

I don’t know if you were aware but scott had a brother named mike and they lived in that house on the hill on the 10 acre parcel on the right about 2 miles before the track . . they both raced pro motocross in the 70’s and one, or both of them got into boat racing too.

If the cmc race was in the 70’s, I would know most of the riders . . my girlfriend owned and ran the amc motocross club in the 70’s so we were at saddleback one week and Carlsbad the next.

you can also pm me if you want.

anyway, its good to see another racer here.
    .

i don't know if you are aware but gary denton is a local motocross legend from the 70's.

also, did you ride the 3 wheeler race in san diego . . jimmy and i were there and they had the monster trucks there too . . it was a blast.
