Kasey-- as always, I am impressed with your builds! Well done Sir!
No trikes. Too old, too crippled. Unless I find one I can't live without!

These Builds make the gears in my head turn. What years of bikes have you used? I have been doing some part number searching on line today and seems like a guy could easily build one of these out of a yz250 as well. Looks like they both seem to use the same swingarms. WR seems enticing to me being street legal titled. I know your a busy dude but details please? I'd love a winter project and some incite on which parts to start looking for would be cool.

    Yz450 trike conversion

    Hi Kasey
I'm putting together the parts for one of these machines. I've got a doner yfz, an extended yfz swing arm, extended axle, hubs, wheels, custom atc250r ten inch rim, and a set of raked vtx triples.

I was looking at doing a steel frame one because I thought it would be the easier conversion, but I noticed you've use an intermediary bracket between the rear sub frame and the main frame on that alloy frame yzf.. Is that a custom bracket or is it a cut of a yfz frame?

Also I've managed to pick up a set of raked 3deg vtx triples, this will reduce the trail of the completed machine. This should lighten the steering a bit. Admittedly, I won't know the resultant trail until the whole thing is bolted together. In your experiences do you think a raked triple clamp will cause some handling problems. Regarding Your conversions thus far, using standard VTX triples, how's the steering? Heavy like a standard tri z, our light like an 87 tecate 3?
