That 350x needs a timing chain and the clutch basket checked to grooves (clutch sort of sticks when riding fairly hard).

Here is my "ugly" machine which was the first 350x I could find in my price range... it was a "non runner" even though it just needed gas. I swapped the engine + dg exhaust out on it and replaced a few other things, been a good daily rider and really reliable. Yes... the front fork is bent pretty bad, I have a replacement, just haven't installed yet. It has new tires since then too. Seems a lot of people around my area are really cheap on their repairs, I find a bunch of trashed machines for cheap, but the ones that look "ok" or better are generally $1000+.
2016-1987 = 29 I'm in good enough shape to keep the lady satisfied, all that matters lol.

Ya your 350X has seen better days. But a wheeler is a wheeler, and if it runs just cosmetic. Sucks forks are bent but if you got some just find an open Saturday and swap out. Good garage time.

Ok at 29 I'm not so sure who will be in better shape. I was going to say under 30 for you, and over 30 the 250sx. Seems the average age he is around 40-50 since people of that age actually grew up with these machines around. I forgot this was the thread with the OP born in 87.

Yea my first 350x is kinda sad looking, but as you said, with the new engine she runs good and pulls strong. I basically bought all the parts to fix it, but they are pretty much just sitting in a shed. Atm garage is full of 3 wheelers and quads, and the entrance is flooded at spring time , I'm working on a drainage system since the building wasn't built right 30+ years ago. I raced someone at trike fest last year against their 490cc big bore 350x and kept up quite well, about 3-4 machines behind and I always had a bad start (I don't race normally). He thought I had engine mods, but I'm just running a DG and the factory carb still adjusted for the oem exhaust.

I'll probably fix the 350x when I fix the nicer 350x and start riding that one more.

Yup, Suamico. Yes I've ridden almost the whole Oconto/Marinette trail systems at one point or another. I usually ride Lincoln county every weekend in the spring, summer and fall. Usually run the quads now though.

Lincoln County eh? I riding up that way also, my friend's grandparents got a place in Spirit Falls (20 minutes west of Tomahawk) right off hwy 86.

I won't harass about riding quads, but just curious how 700XX rides/power? I was always suspect of independent rear (because of cv shafts). My dad always talked about getting one.

That's funny, I have a cottage in the Harrison Hills right on the trail. Hwy 86 turns into cty D which turns into cty B, which I am right off of. I'm only about 10 miles of forest roads from Tomahawk. In my opinion, the 700 is the best trail atv I have ever ridden. It's fast, comfy, with good mileage.

Oh sure, I have an idea where abouts that is. I've probably rode right past it at some point. People I know are off German Settlement road, right onto Sumac. Ya I figured 700XX was a smooth rider. Good to know
