Good news on the diff. Pull the hubs and grease your axle bearings and make sure they are in good working order. The hubs need to be really tight when you put them back on. Oh yeah if the muffler has some small holes just plug them with JB Weld. You can buy a brand aftermarket new replacement slip-on for like $170.00 so good luck. Maybe you can weld and patch?

Oh that sux... Look at eBay best source for parts. There's lots of rusted out junk people try to sell for way more than it's worth, but I just found a new Kimpex slip on for @$140. (141907400858) - eBay item.

Sadly this is why it's so important to keep good fork boots on our machines...

Not sure if it's worth rebuilding these or just run them as is and deal with the bounce. Right now I'm leaning toward running them as is.

    Thoughts?

This is where I am at today. Tear down is coming to a close. Tomorrow I'll service the rear axle and then later on in the week I'll do the brakes, front end back together and fix some small wiring issues. I am planning on riding this inside of 2 weeks if I can pull the trigger on some tires this week.

ID:	228115I actually have a spare pair of these fork tubes - they aren't new, but they don't look all chewed up either! It's fun figuring out how to take the forks apart but once you do it one time it's not a big deal. You'll need a set of 32mm fork seals. I use Lucas oil treatment as my fork oil. You can get a set of fork boots between $16-25 bucks - I've ordered them on eBay a couple times also from Summit. Whilst all this is apart you may as well change out the front tire and replace or at least grease the front axle bearing tube. Check the condition of the Allen bolts on the very bottom of your fork legs. Clean them get them free of mud around the outside of the bolts. Spray with PB blaster heat them if necessary but see if you can get them loose.

Tomorrow I'll finish cleaning the fuel tank and install the new petcock, fuel filter, and battery. Might even fire it off for the first time. Still waiting on fork seals so I'll do the swing arm and axle Sunday.

Big shout out to flyingw for the carb work and djm0242 for a set of fork tubes to replace my junked ones.

I spy a carb that was rebuilt by a forum member =D.

Any details on that exhaust? It looks like it fits well and is somewhat oem styled (not loud as possible like DG's design).

I bought it on ebay for 139 Here is a link to the auction. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kimpex-Exhau...509926?vxp=mtr It went on fairly easy. I did heat up the slip on coupling to get it on it was a bit tight.... Fairly quiet and nicely made. Not high end car quality but nice.

Yep the carb was redone by our member here. Can't say enough good things about his work. Got it to him on a friday and he had it back in the mail to me on monday. Build and tested on his test engine.
