That is worth $50 bucks, if you need the parts, you could EBAY that and make a couple of bucks parted out.

Both engines are worth $50. Hmm I was thinking more of the lines of $200. The one with out the top end I was going to tear it apart and get to know about the guts of an engine. The complete one I was thinking of putting in my 185 auto-x

hard to determine the retail value but its certainly worth $50.00 if you need them . i would plan on rebuilding the complete engine also instead of throwing it in as is and expecting it to be fine.

the add also says so i would contact him asap and ask if he'll take $40.00 and if not just pay whatever he counters with and get them right away if they are close to you.

good deals often sell the same say on craigslist.

Those are worth about 5cents a pound to the non 3 wheeler world.
Rember that ,

I don't think 50 bucks is a good price , something like that you would give to a kid who was interested in motors ,or take some token payment 20$

If you can make a few bucks after you mess with them a bit ,good for you

I'd pay 50.00 for the pair, but I don't have a problem putting them on the shelf for later use and I'm capable of ripping into them and repairing or rebuilding them if needed.

Bottom line: You can't hear them run, so it's possible they both could be junk. You wouldn't know until you ran them or tore into them. Are you willing to take the chance?

ETA: If the complete motor doesn't have a recoil, do you have one that will fit? I don't believe they are a universal swap, and used recoils can be spendy:

I guess it all depends on where you are in life with the amount of projects lined up and your comfort zone in fixing stuff. Me, I wouldn't give him a dime; I just don't need anymore parts. If there's one or two things you need from the pair right now, then it would be worth it IMO.

I say get them. If nothing else, you can still part them out and get your money back. Like Barnett said, make sure the complete one is good before slipping it in your auto x, unless you really like installing engines.

Ya getting them later today. I'm going to part out the non complete one and learn from that. I really wish they were 200x not the X.
